Thanks! I use Facebook and I installed a browser extension cucomm to search for potential customers. It automatically sends messages to users and can add them as friends. The most important thing – you don’t need to enter your account password and all data is protected.

Thanks for your valuable information. I’m planning on selling enamel pins on a couple of college campuses that are close by. These days most folks pay with debit/credit cards instead of cash. Are your customers ever leary of using a system like square that is linked to your phone with a stranger?

  3. Selling is really a tough thing to do. In some of the products & services it is not that difficult. When it comes to selling high value products of services it takes a lot of effort & marketing techniques in order to sell that product or service. Selling used car in among one of them as it was never easy to sell your used car without facing any hassle.

I totally agree when you said that having a positive attitude will definitely catch the attention of potential customers. With that in mind, I will be telling my mom to seek the help of a professional to start an online business. She is just going to retire next year, but she will not stop working that is why she is interested in this kind of industry. I hope she finds a great opportunity.

How do you overcome the fear and anxiety of approaching people? I would feel very intrusive evading someone’s personal space.

    1. alerioja says:

It is all about practice. The very first few times I approached people my face was red, I was sweating and couldn’t get my pitch across. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

To overcome the anxiety try to find a demographic that you are comfortable with. Try friends of friends or older people, that might be an easier exercise.

  34. Melissa DeLay says:

this is actually really valuable information. The section of the sales closing techniques is interesting, I had never heard of #2 and #6.

    1. alerioja says:

thanks :D, let me know if you end up using any of them

  35. Selim Jakar says:

How long should a street sale take in general?

    1. alerioja says:

Most street sales take an average of 4-7 minutes. The first concern you should have as an amateur salesman is to simply close without worrying about how long it takes. Nota bene: If you are taking more than 10 minutes to sell something under $30, you need to revise the product and pitch. Also, never try selling anything higher than $50, no one wants to spend that much on an item they bought on the street.
