AI Consultant · San Antonio, TX Operator advisory

AI consulting for
San Antonio operators.

I'm in Austin, an hour and a half up I-35. I built 11 brands and I run my own businesses on agents I designed. I work with San Antonio owners who want AI doing real work in the business this quarter.

San Antonio, specifically

Where I'd start with a San Antonio business.

I haven't run a company in San Antonio, so I won't pretend to know yours. These are the four patterns I'd check first, based on what the local economy runs on.

Defense and cybersecurity contractors.

Port San Antonio and Joint Base San Antonio feed a long tail of small contractors. The time sink is paperwork: capability statements, past-performance write-ups, security questionnaires. An agent that drafts from your own past submissions takes the first pass off a ten-person shop's plate. Controlled information stays out of public models, and I scope that boundary before a single prompt gets written.

Clinics and medical practices.

The South Texas Medical Center anchors a ring of independent practices. I start with the work that never touches a patient record: review requests, the questions the phone line answers forty times a day, hiring. Those ship in weeks. Anything involving patient data comes later and goes through your compliance lead.

Restaurants, hotels and attractions.

Visitors ask ChatGPT where to eat near the River Walk before they open Google Maps. The places that get named have complete, consistent facts everywhere: hours, menu, prices, parking, group policy. Most venues never do that cleanup. I run a venue myself, so this is the one I know best from the inside.

Bilingual customer service.

Most San Antonio businesses serve customers in English and Spanish, and most reply faster in one of them. An inbound agent that answers in the customer's language from the same approved answers closes that gap. This site runs in both languages off one system, so I've built the plumbing.

What I advise on

Three buckets, no vendor pitch.

I don't have a partnership tier with OpenAI or Anthropic. I have a decade of direct P&L responsibility across 11 brands, plus Pickleland today, and that's the seat I advise from.

  1. 01
AI roadmap for founders. Where AI changes your unit economics in the next 12 months, and where it doesn't. You get a ranked list of the one to three workflows worth automating first, with what each costs to build and run.
  2. 02
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy. How to get cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini as well as ranked by Google. The output is page-level work: which pages to rebuild, which facts are missing, which schema to add.
  3. 03
Agent builds and design review. I build the agent in your stack, or review what your team is already shipping: where the prompts are brittle, which evals are missing, where the deploy will hit the wall.
AI search visibility

Getting cited when someone asks AI about San Antonio.

Run this test before you hire anyone, me included. Open ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode and type what your customer would type:

  • “best HVAC company in San Antonio”
  • “family dentist near Stone Oak”
  • “group dinner near the River Walk”

Ask in Spanish too. "Mejor dentista en San Antonio" is a different search from the English one and can name different businesses, so check both.

Write down which businesses get named and which pages get cited. If you're missing, the fix is usually unglamorous:

  • A Google Business Profile with every field filled in and kept current.
  • One page per service that states price, service area and hours as plain facts an assistant can quote.
  • LocalBusiness schema that says the same thing your profile says.
  • Mentions on the local sites the answer is already citing.

Three free tools to start with: the GEO checker, the AI crawler access checker and the schema generator. If the list above is more than you want to run yourself, that work is what the audit covers.

Who you're hiring

From inside live P&Ls,
not the slide-deck circuit.

UCLA '17. Built and ran a portfolio of 11 brands (~2M monthly readers at peak), now operating Pickleland in Pflugerville. I designed the AI agent systems that ran each one: content, SEO, customer comms, finance routing.

What I tell clients is what I'm doing in my own businesses. The strategy gets tested on a P&L I'm responsible for first. Cited in Forbes, Inc., HuffPost, BBC, Mashable.

FAQ for San Antonio AI consulting.

Are you based in San Antonio?
No. I'm based in Austin, about an hour and a half up I-35. San Antonio engagements run remote-first with in-person kickoffs and reviews, and you're welcome in Pflugerville, where I run Pickleland, any time.
How much does AI consulting cost in San Antonio?
The same as anywhere I work. A 30-minute call is $300. The four-week AI + GEO audit is $9,500 and ends in a 90-day plan. Agent builds are quoted by scope, and I take two at a time. Book the call first if you're not sure which one fits.
What kinds of San Antonio companies do you work with?
Best fit: $1M–$25M in annual revenue, organic-leaning growth, a founder still close to the marketing P&L. Cybersecurity and defense contractors, medical practices, hospitality and home-services companies all map well. Pre-revenue startups and large enterprises both have better options elsewhere.
Do I need an AI agency or an AI consultant in San Antonio?
An agency sells you hours from a team. I'm one person working alongside the agents I build, so the person who designs your system is the person you talk to. If you need twenty people on site, hire the agency. If you need one working system and someone who'll tell you which ideas to drop, that's me.
Can you get my business cited by ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews for San Antonio searches?
That's the GEO half of the work. I test the prompts your customers use, record who gets cited, and fix the pages, schema and profiles that decide it. Nobody can promise a citation, and I don't. The free GEO checker gives you a first read on any page.
Can we meet in person?
Yes. The Pearl, Southtown and downtown San Antonio all work, or come up to Austin or Pflugerville.
How is this different from a Big Four AI consulting practice?
Big Four ships decks. I ship deployed agents in your repo. I charge for the build, where they charge for headcount-hours. I cap at two builds at a time, and they staff hundreds. Which one fits depends on what you need.
